- Users can create, shape and manipulate plants, including wood, vines, plants, moss, and parts of the plants, such as leaves, seeds, fruits and flowers. The user can cause plants to grow, move/attack or even rise from the soil and "walk", mutate plants by rearranging DNA structure and revive withered or dead plants. They can use their power for defense and support by growing plants from the ground and make them sprout seeds/fruits/berries, or even to possibly use plant chemicals to heal people or objects or manipulate their properties for a wide range of effects. Though less commonly activated by passive users, the ability may deal a series of offensive techniques on a target. Using the plants as weapons enables users to grasp and strike continuously with vines and roots, project thorns at a distance, and quickly regenerate the withering weapons at the user’s will. They can make vines grow and climb around a target's neck, causing choking, or even strike with plants. A more subtle technique is to release damaging toxins and pheromones, affecting targets in which conditions should be treated quickly with ailments. User may also control plants in their altered forms, i.e. concentrated forms, such as cotton clothing/fabric, paper, etc. |
Lacey was raised by a single mother in Los Angeles, California. She was always a happy child, despite how she rarely saw her mother due to the fact that her mother worked two jobs to support her daughter. She always had a love for dogs, but they could never afford one. Lacey’s mutation showed itself at an early age, as she was in a first grade class and assigned to grow a small plant as an extra credit assignment. By the end of the week, her plant was thriving, and most all of the other students’ had died. The teacher rewarded her greatly, but she never thought anything of it until a few years later. Her mother tended to a small garden when she had the chance, and Lacey liked the play under the plants. She was playing under the bushes with her dolls one day when she was stung by a bee, and Lacey, who was still very young, began to cry. Much to her horror, the bushes around her began to shrivel up and die, and she screamed even more, which only accelerated the bushes’ deaths. Distraught, Lacey’s mother rushed her inside to tend to the sting, but she never explained to Lacey about the plants. After that, though, she stayed out of the garden, terrified of what had happened to her.
Four years later, Lacey was playing outside with one of her neighbors when an older boy began to make fun of them. Her friend ignored him, but he continued to taunt them. Lacey eventually grew frustrated, and when he attempted to steal the doll she was playing with, she screamed, and the limbs of the tree she was playing under came to life, lifting the boy up. He released her doll, but Lacey was terrified, and she ran home and hid under her bed until her mother found her. By then, Lacey was 12, so her mother finally explained that she believed the young girl was a mutant with powers that had manifested early. Lacey was still terrified, though, and refused to leave her home, even for school. A few days later, a man by the name of Charles Xavier visited Lacey and her mother and told them about the school he ran that was specifically for mutants. He asked Lacey to join, but she was hesitant and fearful of her powers. Her mother eventually convinced her, though, and she left to attend the school.
Lacey attended the school for a full year, learning to control her powers and not be fearful of them. Just as she was fully settling into the school, though, she received news that her mother had been killed in a drive by shooting incident. Heart broken, Lacey dropped out of the school, and was sent to live with her aunt out in Arizona. Her aunt tried to take care of the girl, but she could never really get along with her niece, nor could she make peace with the fact that she was a mutant. When she turned 18, Lacey moved out and back to New York, having grown to like the city more than her hometown of LA. She didn’t live in the city, though, and moved into a small home near Westchester. She then took a job at a local flower shop, and has been living there ever since.
